Parking Reminders

Parking in the Mews is controlled by two entities: The county and the Mews HOA parking regulations.

Fairfax County designated the entire width of streets within the Mews as fire lanes.  Within the Mews this means that all street parking, except for designated parking spaces is illegal.  Cars parked behind cars in parking spaces, blocking driveways and parked more than a few inches into the street are ALL considered to be parked illegally in fire lanes. Parking in fire lanes is considered a safety hazard by both the county and the Mews HOA and may very well result in a parking ticket and/or being towed.  You should also keep in mind that if parking in such an area could prevent or delay an emergency vehicle from being able to pass (remember, a “hook and ladder” truck needs a LOT of space to make a turn!), you could also be liable to a civil suit, and even if won, will still cost you substantial legal fees.

Parking in non-designated parking spaces, such as on the grass, in the street, or in the cross hatched area by the pool (whether on private property or common areas) is controlled by the HOA and may also result in your vehicle being towed.  Please consult the parking section of the Mews website for more details.

Remember parking regulations, whether county or HOA are designed first and foremost for the safety of our residents and as a secondary reason, to maintain the overall “curb appeal” the community.

Someone parked in your space or have you blocked in? The best option is to call Cardinal Management Group, but you may also call the towing company directly (Dominion Towing – 703-339-2400).

To report vehicles parked in official no parking zones, call the police non-emergency number: 703-691-2131.
